Hora: 14.00 – 17.00
Lugar: ESCI-UPF | Passeig Pujades 1, Barcelona
The “SUSTAINABILITY KNOWLEDGE” event, organised by the UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change at ESCI-UPF, will take place on February 25, 2025, at ESCI-UPF, Barcelona. Focused on “Resilience in Healthcare Systems,” this event will bring together experts to explore how sustainability, education, and innovation can address critical challenges in the healthcare sector. The event aims to foster actionable knowledge for a more sustainable and resilient healthcare system through keynote speeches, discussions on climate impacts, circular economy strategies, and real-world case studies.
Participants will exchange best practices for integrating sustainability into healthcare systems, including institution-wide strategies, facility-level improvements, and advancements in medical equipment sustainability.
Additionally, the event will promote an educational platform designed to enhance the practical knowledge of students and healthcare professionals on mainstreaming sustainability in the sector. The platform consists of four interdisciplinary theoretical modules and one practical module, where students will collaborate on real-world sustainability challenges in healthcare facilities or systems.
Students will be supervised by partners of the DesHealth Erasmus project, a collaboration between leading educational institutions (ESCI-UPF, Delft University of Technology, Politecnico di Torino, and the Nordic Centre for Sustainable Healthcare) and healthcare organisations (La Unió, Bioindustry Park, and Erasmus Hospital).
The DesHealth Erasmus project’s educational activities will culminate in the Autumn School hosted by Delft University of Technology in October 2025.
