Albert Carreras is professor of history and economic institutions at the School of Economics and Business at the UPF. He is also a member of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans. He was a postdoc at UC Berkeley, a lecturer at the Universitat de Barcelona, the European University Institute (Florencia) and Georgetown University and president of the European Business History Association. He has also held two Catalan government posts: he was secretary of Economics and Finance and secretary general of the Ministry for Business and Knowledge.
