Discounts

Certain personal situations allow for discounts on the official public registration fees (see the reduction in the amount at the Administration Department).

Remember that you must submit the required documentation for each situation at the time of registration to benefit from the corresponding discount.

Supporting documentation, where applicable, of the right to a discount on the part of the public registration fee.

General category (first) large family certificate and special category (second or honorary) large family certificate

At the time of registration, you must present the original and a photocopy of the valid large family certificate on the start date of the academic year.

If you present the individual card, it will be necessary for you to declare the number of siblings included in the large family certificate.

If the certificate has expired, you must present a document issued by the Department of Welfare and Family or an equivalent body proving that it is in the process of being renewed and before the 31st of December, you must present the renewed and valid certificate on the start date of the course, as established by the current regulations.

Situations of particular category large family (second or honorary) entitle you to total exemption from the public part of the registration fee. The situation of a general category large family (first) allows you a half-exemption (50% discount) on the public part of the registration fee.

Certificate of Honours in A-Levels and Extraordinary Award in A-Levels.

When you register, you must present an original certificate issued by the A-Level centre indicating the Honours mentioned in A-Levels or supporting documentation of having received the Extraordinary Award in A-Levels.

You will be granted exemption from the public part of the registration fee for all credits in the first year, provided you are enrolling for the first time.

ATTENTION: you can only enjoy this discount if you access the university for the first time.

Disability Certificate (minimum degree of 33%)

At registration, you must present the original and a photocopy of the certificate issued or validated by the Catalan Institute of Social Services and Assistance that certifies a minimum disability degree of 33%. The document must state the degree, type of condition, and the date of the next review or specify if it is permanent/final.

Resolution certifying the status of victim of terrorist acts

You'll need to present the corresponding administrative resolution (original and photocopy) at registration. A photocopy of the family record book for the spouse or children must accompany the resolution.

You will be granted exemption from the public part of the registration fee for all credits you enrol in.

Resolution certifying the status of a victim of gender-based violence.

Supporting documentation for the status of a victim of domestic violence within a partnership:

  • Conviction for a gender-based violence offence.
  • Protection order or any other judicial resolution that agrees on a precautionary measure in favour of the victim.
  • Report from the Public Prosecutor's Office indicating that the applicant is a victim of gender-based violence.
  • Report or certificate proving that the applicant is being treated as a victim of gender-based violence, issued by one of the following services:
  • Social Services:
    • Unit for Actions against Family and Gender-Based Violence, from the General Directorate of Families of the Department of Labour, Social Affairs, and Families.
    • Specialised Intervention Services (SIE).
    • Information and Support Services for Women (SIAD).
    • Office for the Assistance to Victims of Crime.
    • Public shelter resource.
    • Entity funded by a specific public administration for the support of women victims of gender-based violence.
    • Report from the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate.

Validity of the documentation:

  • In the case of a conviction for a gender-based violence offence:
    •   If the final sentence is less than 2 years, the status will be maintained for 2 years.
    •   If the final sentence is between 2 and 4 years, the status will be maintained for 4 years.
    •   If the final sentence is more than 4 years, the status will be maintained for the duration of the sentence.
  • In the case of a protection order, precautionary measure, or report from the Public Prosecutor's Office, the status will be maintained for at least one year or the duration of the preventive measures if longer.
  • The certificate or report from victim support services will be valid for the calendar year it was issued.

To certify the dependency relationship of the children of victims of domestic violence within a partnership, the following documentation must be presented:

  • Family record book for children up to 21 years old.
  • Certificate of cohabitation of the family unit in the case of children over 21 years old.
