Biography
Toni Cortes has an MSc in Computer Science (1992) and a PhD in Computer Science (1997) from UPC. He is currently manager of the storage-system group at the Barcelona School of Informatics (BSC) and is also an associate professor at UPC.
He regularly teaches operating system and computer architecture courses at the BSC, and between 2000 and 2004 he also served as vice-dean for international affairs at the school. His research focuses on storage systems, programming models for scalable distributed systems and operating systems. He has published 103 technical papers and has supervised 10 PhD theses.
