Biography
Lluís Padró is an associate professor at UPC-BarcelonaTech, where he teaches classes for the Bachelor’s Degree in Computing and the Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence. His research centres on natural language processing, a subject on which he has written over 120 papers, many for world-class international journals and conferences. He has supervised ten PhD thesis and is currently supervisor for two ongoing theses. He has led or been closely involved with more than twenty competitive projects that received Spanish or EU funding and has managed numerous technology transfer agreements with industry.

These two courses cover the basics of algorithms and data structures, with emphasis on fundamental algorithms and basic control structures and applications. We will focus mainly on the imperative paradigm and introduce object-oriented design. The main programming language will be Python, although we will also use C++ to discuss implementation aspects and efficiency.
