External academic internships are a compulsory subject undertaken in the third year of the Bachelor's degree in International Business and Marketing and are on a full-time basis.
Furthermore, if the student wishes, they can undertake optional internships in the first and second terms of the third year and during the final year. The only requirement will be to have passed 50% of the degree and that the tasks to be performed are related to the curriculum.
Firstly, there's a preparation period where the student learns to create or improve the various tools needed for the active job search, such as the CV, video CV, personal branding management, and interviews.
Secondly, the search begins. During the second term of the third year, ESCI-UPF publishes offers from various companies, both national and international, that match these profiles. The student can then apply to any they choose and look for other companies of interest, as long as they meet the requirements in the ESCI-UPF regulations.
Finally, the time comes to undertake the internships. From April to June is the compulsory period, and it is full-time. Afterwards, if the student wishes, this can be extended by starting part-time from January to March, extending the full-time period until September, or continuing part-time during the last year.
Undertaking the internships entails signing an educational cooperation agreement following what is stipulated in the academic program and the current state regulations. Therefore, both parties must fulfil what is signed regarding rights and duties. Moreover, from the student's side, it is required to submit the documentation requested in the agreement and within the indicated deadlines to evaluate the subject.
