EUKIT Events
Ever since the school was set up, ESCI-UPF has sought to combine robust theoretical education and training with a range of academic activities outside the classroom to give students an all-round, holistic education.
With this in mind, EUKIT has teamed up with two ongoing experiences at ESCI-UPF, ESCIUPFilms and the GNMI Study Trip to Brussels, to widen the project's potential target audience and boost its impact.
ESCIUPFilms
ESCI-UPF’s monthly film forum gives students and other ESCI-UPF and UPF Group stakeholders a greater insight into key social, economic and political aspects of today’s world.
Many filmmakers and other creators have explored a range of highly sensitive topics, from blood diamonds to child labour and endangered species, which also have a direct or indirect bearing on EU Common Trade Policy.
The partnership between EUKIT and ESCIUPFilms aims to deepen participants’ understanding of these and other complex realities by offering them a forum in which to analyse and discuss highly relevant films and documentaries.
Trip to Brussels
The GNMI Study Trip to Brussels has been revamped to match the revised module objectives. EUKIT takes a small group of third- and fourth-year students on a study trip to Brussels to learn about the day-to-day business of the EU Common Trade Policy in the making.
These three-day trips combine visits to the main EU decision-making institutions involved in the Common Trade Policy with opportunities to hear from other actors (international corporations, BIAs, NGOs) with organisational interests in this sector of public policy.
