Biography
José Francisco Sánchez works as a bioinformatics technician in the Genomics and Bioinformatics Unit at IGTP carrying out analysis and research projects (genomics, transcriptomes, epigenetics, etc.) for different researchers and users. He uses programming languages (Python, R, Shell) in Linux/Mac/Windows environments and computer clusters. He is also an associate lecturer at the UAB, where he teaches classes on genetics, genomics and bioinformatics, and a course instructor and mentor for the Joint Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and the Universitat de Barcelona.

Visualising data in bioinformatics: annotation of genomes and browsers; structure of visualisers; tools for manipulating networks. Hive plots. Graphics libraries.
